This Merdeka day, visit the tranquil countryside of Pontian and let us bring you on a journey through this quaint and traditional town located in Johor.
Immerse yourself in the culture of this fishing village and experience first-hand the livelihood of the people. From visiting the traditional bakery and delighting in a scrumptious seafood lunch, on this tour, we will eat where the locals eat, and do what the locals do.
Ready to explore the local and traditional way of living
I will meet you in Goh Ah Heng jetty at 8.30 am. This unique tour gives you insider access to the fishing docks, the fish bidding markets, the town's traditional bakery, the paper factory, and the bee farm. You will follow me to eat like a local, including our favorite breakfast at a traditional coffee shop, a delicious seafood lunch, wantan noodle, and rojak.
And for that local touch, you will mingle with the local who will teach you their ways of extracting fiber from the pineapple leaves. We will also see how salted fish is produced, and will take a visit to the bamboo processing factory.
It will end at 5.30 pm
The more I know the local people here, the more I love Pontian - my hometown and the harmony in which locals live together. And I would love for you to fall in love with this place and its people like I am!
