Let's go on a hike in a tropical jungle of the Penang National Park, and head to the sandy shores of Kerachut Beach.
Our 3.5km hike will take us closer to nature amidst lush tropical vegetation, which leads to Kerachut Beach. Once we reach the beach, we will enjoy hot coffee or tea while relaxing to the sound of crashing waves, or visit the turtle sanctuary nearby. It will end in an exhilarating 5-minute boat ride back.
The trek begins
My approach is to go easy and to make any activity enjoyable and safe.
We'll do a 1.5 hrs of hiking from the Penang National Park office to Kerachut Beach which covers a distance of about 3.5km. The trail starts with a 200m cement pavement along the beach before it goes into the nature trails surrounded by the cool, tropical jungle.
The highest point is about 175m which is considered to be an easy trail and should not be a problem even for those doing their first hike.
At Kerachut Beach we can spend some time to have a rest, take photos and videos, visit a turtle sanctuary about 80m away or even to get some peaceful time of your own.
I'll prepare hot coffee (espresso - better believe it) or tea at the beach and finally we'll take a 5 minutes' boat ride back where this will be another thrilling experience on its own.
End of the journey
See you again soon!
