Pick up at 8 am at your hotel, visit Banteay Kdei, Ta Prohm temple, Takeo & the city of Angkor Thom

In the morning, start the tour to see Banteay Kdei, the Buddhist temple was built in 12th century. Then continue to see the most famous temple which was built in the mid 12th to early 13th centuries, known as Ta Prohm temple. This temple has been deliberately left in its natural state after re-discovery by the French in the late 1800s – leaving it overgrown and gradually declining. It was the site of the tomb raider movie. It has been famous since this movie broadcasted.

After that drive to see a temple in the jungle, a bit a way from the crowd called Takeo. Lunch Break (own cost).

At 2:30pm, start the tour to see the city of Angkor Thom Through the victory gate. From here you will enter the city and move to the Bayon temple (1200AD), famous for its many galleries of Bas-reliefs that chronicle the history and life of the city. Continue on foot/transport to the Bapuon Temple, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the site of the ancient Royal Palace. Then back to see the sunset at Angkor Thom city wall.

Back to your hotel. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Pick up at 8 am at your hotel, explore Angkor Wat sunrise, Banteay Srei & the Landmine Museum

In the early morning at 5 am, start the tour to explore the sun rise at the world’s largest religious monument, Angkor Wat. It is surrounded by a broad 190m wide moat, is 1.5 km long by 1.3 km wide. The temple itself is 330 m by 260 m, has three levels and 5 major towers. In side the temple, on the walls are covered with base reliefs depicting Hindu Mythology and the war during king Suryavaraman II’s reign. Furthermore, Angkor Wat is well known for more than 2,000 Apsara dancers decorating the temple. Today, Angkor Wat is figured on Cambodia’s national flag as the temple symbolizes the soul of Cambodian. The climb to the top level is very steep but an absolute must (you need shoulders covered and knee level pants/skirt).

Then head to see the famous temple called the GEM of Angkor area, the pretty temple of Banteay Srei. The so called “the citadel of women”. It displays some of the finest examples of classical Khmer art of base reliefs and pink sandstone which is seem nowhere else in Angkor.

After visiting local houses, continue to see the Landmine Museum which promotes mine awareness and education. You also can learn about Cambodia through 3 decades in civil war. Mr. Aki Ra, the museum founder, was a child soldier during Khmer Rouge. Now is working as a de-miner. He was one of the CNN top ten heroes, 2010. (optional ), $5/pp.

Over night in Siem Reap.

Pick up at 8 am at your hotel, visit floating village (Kampong Khleang) & Beng Mealea

After breakfast, start the journey to visit one of the local market in Siem Reap. You can experience how locals handle with their business.

Then carry on to visit the floating village (Kampong Khleang). It is an interesting boat trip (2hrs) on Tonle Sap Lake, where you will have an opportunity to view the daily life of people living on the lake. Through our sightseeing you will experience the daily life of people in the village and enjoy the different view. Tonle Sap is the largest fresh water lake in South East Asia. You can see houses on stilts that are submerged when Tonle Sap extends in the wet. You will also enjoy the flooded forest and fishing activity along the way. And also take a break from the big boat to the small boat through the forest and floating villages.

Lunch break (own account). And then continue the tour to see the temple called Beng Mealea. The temple is covered over one square kilometre and largely overrun by vegetation and very lightly touristic, giving it an adventurous ‘lost temple’ feel. Constructed in a distinctly Angkor Wat style under the same king that built Angkor Wat (Suryavarman II), Beng Mealea preceded and may have served as a prototype of sort for Angkor Wat.
